A two way conversation
We've designed our recruitment process to give you the best possible chance to showcase your skills and abilities. It's very much a two-way process, so you'll also have the chance to find out more about us and what we can offer.
Our Recruitment team take care of all applications and will be your main point of contact. If you've applied for a specific role, they will send your details to the relevant manager. Or if you've applied speculatively, they will acknowledge your application and keep your details on file for six months. During that time your skills and experience will be reviewed against all new vacancies. If you match the requirements for a new role, they will pass on your details to the relevant manager.
The selection process
Once the recruiting manager has received your information, they will review your application against the specification for the role. If you look like a good match to them they will get in touch. The type of interview or assessment they’ll offer depends on the requirements of the role. But we’ll let you know in advance what to expect.
Telephone interviews usually take around 20 minutes. You’ll be given further information about the position and asked some general questions about your suitability for the role. This is normally used as a first stage interview to determine whether you will be offered a more in-depth face-to-face interview.
Competency based interview
Our face-to-face competency-based interviews normally take around an hour. They help us to find out how you dealt with comparable situations to what you’ll face in your role.
Our role-plays take around 20 minutes and are designed to give you the opportunity to demonstrate the skills and behaviours your role needs.
For some roles we conduct specific skills tests – such as for numeracy, verbal reasoning, or technical abilities. Where suitable, we’ll send you a practice leaflet for you to prepare in advance.
We ask some specific financial questions of all candidates. These give us a clearer understanding of the financial backgrounds of the people we employ. To ensure there is no hold up with an offer of employment, please ensure you complete these questions fully.
